The event brought together experts, policymakers, researchers and industry representatives to discuss water-energy transition
As part of the Twinning HEUROPE Sol2H2O project, coordinated by the University of Évora in collaboration with CIEMAT (Spain), the Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC), and the University of Palermo (Italy), the Water-Energy Transition Symposium (WETSymp) was organised to explore the role of the Water-Energy nexus in achieving the goals of the National Energy and Climate Plans.
The symposium also aimed to assess the industrial potential of various solar-based technologies for water production and treatment. Initially held at the national level by each project partner, the event gathered insights from participants in Portugal, Spain, and Italy through a shared set of questions, which were then compared and discussed during the international symposium.
