APA visited Sol2H2O project
On May 6th around 20 technicians from the Department of Water Resources and the Administration of the Hydrographic Region of Alentejo, (Portuguese Environmental Agency – APA), visited the Renewable Energies Chair at the University of Évora (CER-UÉ).
Accompanied by CER-UÉ responsible, Pedro Horta, as well as CER-UÉ researchers, the visit aimed at presenting the infrastructure for water production and treatment, as well as the objectives and partnerships of Sol2H2O project.
Starting with a short overall presentation of SOL2H2O and some Q&A, later there was a visit to the solar photoreactor currently being assessed for emerging contaminants degradation in the framework of the project, as well as the future location of the desalination pilot plant to be installed within the project. Special interest was devoted to the treatment and brine valorisation, with the participants showing great concern with the proper disposal of brine resulting from desalination processes for water production.
