The SALTOpower and Sol2H2O projects, coordinated by the University of Évora, played a prominent role, showcasing cutting-edge work in the field of solar energy for the water-energy nexus and in molten salt technologies for energy applications. This participation proved valuable, as it allowed for the dissemination of the work carried out, the establishment of contacts with companies and professionals in the sector, and the opening of paths for potential future synergies that strengthen the link between research and the market.

Within the conference program, the coordinator of the SOL4R unit, Pedro Horta, delivered a talk dedicated to the topics “Sol2H2O: The potential role of Solar Energy in the Water-Energy Nexus” and “Molten Salt technologies as an Energy Hub for the Energy Transition,” related to both projects, where he also presented the National Research Infrastructure in Concentrated Solar Power (INIESC) and the innovative activities of SOL4R at the Mitra Campus in Évora. He also took part in the session promoted by the Alliance for the Energy Transition, contributing to the debate on green hydrogen and its role in the energy transition.
With this presence, SOL4R and INIESC consolidated their position within the national landscape of solar energy research, reinforcing their commitment to developing sustainable technological solutions.

The event gathered around one hundred companies from the energy and water sectors of Portugal and Spain and featured about 40 conferences dedicated to innovation in the fields of energy and water.
